About me and my professional goals: I am a trans woman who intends to be a counselor supporting trans, gender diverse and queer people in my community. I am a creative and curious person. I enjoy nature, food, projects, and time with friends and community. I hope to work with diverse individuals and relationships as a counselor. As a Professional Counselor Associate I am eager to develop in this counseling career. I am always learning and hope to pursue ongoing education in sex therapy.

Prior to providing services, registered associates must provide each client with a professional disclosure statement consistent with the content and in a format as specified in OAR Chapter 833 Division 50. When providing disclosure statements via electronic communication, registered associates must ensure a means of documenting confirmation of receipt and acknowledgement of the PDS.

Philosophy and Approach: 

I operate from a relational approach that is informed by trauma and attachment theories. My style is to be myself and hold space for my clients to be themselves too. I want to hear my clients’ emotional experiences and what they mean to them. I am responsive to my clients needs. We can be collaborative and flexible deciding how we spend our sessions.

Formal Education:

I have a masters degree in marriage, couples, and family counseling from Portland State University. I also completed a year-long internship the Community Counseling Clinic at PSU.

Life Cycle & Transitions,  Consultation, Counseling Children & Youth, Research & Program Evaluation in Counseling, IPR II: Counseling Skills, Couples Therapy,  Practicum, Multicultural Counseling, Diag & Treatment Planning II, Supervision -1, Practicum: Peer Supervision, Group Counseling, Career & Lifestyle Planning, Grief & Loss, Foundations of Addictions Counseling, Systemic Perspectives on Human Sexuality, Family Therapy, and Adv Systemic Inter: Couples & Families.

Fees:

 Individual rate: $150 for 55 min sessions and Couples rate: $200 for 55 min sessions

As a Registered Associate of the state of Oregon, I abide by the Code of Ethics. To maintain my registration, I am supervised by Sally Mae Derwin, MA, LMFT

As a client of an Oregon Registered Associate, you have the following rights:

(A) To expect that a registered associate has met the minimum qualifications of training and experience required by 

        state law; 

(B) To examine public records maintained by the Board and to have the Board confirm credentials of a registered

       associate;

(C) To obtain a copy of the Code of Ethics;

(D) To report complaints to the Board;

(E) To be informed of the cost of professional services before receiving the services;

(F) To be assured of privacy and confidentiality while receiving services as defined by rule or law. 

Exceptions: 1) Reporting suspected child abuse; 2) Reporting imminent danger to you or others; 3) Reporting information required in court proceedings or by your insurance company, or other relevant agencies; 4) Providing information concerning licensee case consultation or supervision; and 5) Defending claims brought by you against me;   

(G) To be free from being the object of discrimination on any basis listed in the Code of Ethics while receiving services.
